The Great Square Challenge!

Today we had the Math challenge of how many squares can you make by overlapping 3 squares of the same size. Through this we learned the difference between a square and a rectangle.

I wonder how many squares you can make by overlapping 4 squares of the same size?

3 Things We Learned Today:
1. “In Math we had a challenge because we had to make the greatest number of squares. We had to use 3 squares that were the same size.” M.M.
2. “In Music we played a game called Naughty Kitty Cat. A person goes in the middle and there’s an owner and you put your hands up. The owner has to try and tag the kitty cat before it gets back in it’s spot.” L.S.
3. “In Gym I learned a new game called Balls and Rings. We had to take Frisbees and lay them around the gym. Some of the class had to put the balls in the Frisbees (rings) and other people had to try and knock them out with pool noodles.” S.C.
