Learning About Landforms

Today we began an exploration of what the word 'landform' means. We looked at a large picture of Calgary and identified all the different landforms we saw. We learned that trees, bushes and plants are actually not a landform in and of itself, but may be found within a specific landform (i.e. a tree on a plain). We will begin comparing landforms to 3 other Canadian Communities as part of our Social Studies learning.

3 Things We Learned Today:
1. "In Gym we played Simon Says and I think about half the class got out. We learned shooting and passing while shooting. We were trying to get it on the dot." M.C.
2. "In Music we learned how to play a new game Match the rhythm with the pumpkin. We also learned a song called 'The Cat Came Back." A.D.
3. "In Science we had an experiment, what is the temperature for cold, warm and hot water. Some of us had some right hypotheses, and some of us didn't have all of it right." K.O.

Reminders:
1. On our trip to Telus Spark we will be spending sometime outside. Dress for the weather as we will be outside for 30 minutes.
2. We can dress up for Halloween on Thursday. We can wear our costumes to school because the parade is in the morning. No masks or weapons.
